Nov 7th

What a beautiful day for football!  A lot of good action as all 5 teams were playing.  National Playoffs in Huntsville, Regional playoffs in Madison, Charles Fowler Bowl in Mt Pleasant TN, and the Tiny Mites big match up in the NAPW Tiny Mite bowl.

National (Milton Frank) - PW Coach Wolfe's Sting team was matched up against one of the premier associations in the country, the Union Road Jaguars out of Gaston County, NC.  Union Rd is the national runner up from 2008 and year in and year out one of the top teams in the country.  The teams battled to a 14-6 first half score in favor of the Jags who scored late in the first half to hold on to a lead from a tough first half.  The Sting offense came out in the second half and controlled the ball for the 3rd qtr and battled back to 14-13.  The Jaguars got another score, missed the extra point and then got the ball back and looked to have the game put away.  The Sting defense came up big with a fumble recovery and then the offense found a spark with 1:00 remaining and broke a big run for a TD. The Sting kicker added the extra point to tie the game with seconds to go.  In OT both teams scored, UR got an extra point to preseave the win 27-26.  GREAT JOB BOYS WE are very proud of you!

Regional (Madison City Stadium)- JM Coach Jett's hard charging team had to battle injuries and illness. The JM Sting was down to the minimal players to compete without forfeit.  The Columbia Vols were the Champions of Tennessee and looked to advance to the finals of the Mid South Regionals.  Missing starters were tough for the Sting to overcome.  The first half saw the Vols up 6-0, but  Coach Jett had a couple of big plays called back including a TD.  In the seond half Coach Jett's boys battled, but undersized and fatigue set in and the Vols went on to win 18-0

Regional (Madison City Stadium) - JPW Coach Knight was trying to recover from their only loss the week before against MA to face the Tennessee Champ Spring Hill Raiders.  The boys came out strong and a solid team effort helped the boys get out early to a 14-0 lead at half time.  The second half saw every player on the team make big plays as the team went on to a 21-0 win.  They will advance to the playoffs and the opponent and location are TBD.  WAY TO GO BOYS!

Charles Fowler Bowl (Mt Pleasant, TN) - MM Coach Hayes was thrown a curve ball with conflicting start times that saw key players miss the game and put the balance of the Sting in a hole.  On top of that they were moved up against a better opponet the Giles County Cardinals.  Coach Hays boys battled hard to a 6-6 regulation and won the game in OT 13-6!  Good job guys!!

NAPW Tiny Mite Bowl (Palmer Park, Madison) - Coach Jeremy Knight's boys had battled hard all the year and were in their Biggest game of the year facing the best team out of Tennessee!  The Columiba Lions have always run one of the best programs in the state of Tennessee.  Coach Knight's boys showed why the were so good this year as the showed strong fundementals. A couple of scores were called back and the result was a tie.  Coach Knight's Tiny Mites really grew this year.

GREAT JOB STING!
